That Gallant looks an awful lot like a Lancer Sportback.

The STi. I think the Mitsu were snowflakes and would cry if given any shit but the STi could deal with it.

I’m usually Team Mitsubishi, but in this case, Subaru. The Lancer Hatch looks terrible in my opinion.
What is it about the Lancer/Galant nameplate anyway? In Europe, it seems to have switched from one to the other over time.
Also: Auto? Why?

I would pick the Mitsubishi Galant/Lancer because; it would be more fun with the manual transmission; also, it costs a good amount less.

Your probably in the wrong country then. Though I might have spelled it wlongry. It’s probably a Garant here.

At least here in the US, the Ralliart was only sold with a TC-SST, Mitsubishi’s dual clutch transmission that was also available on the Evo.

Simply because I didn’t feel like taking the exam to transfer my license the extra 5 times it might take for them to feel I had earned the right to a manual license, and so legally I can’t drive a manual here.

Interesting choice. It’s probably cheaper if you search goo-net instead of exchange. Google translate does wonders. C or D grade wonders, but still wonders.

If you must buy something with an automatic gearbox, why not get a Levorg? you can find examples for about that much.

Mostly because there is only one that appears when I put a limit of 1.3 million. It’s a random number for just looking when I don’t have any money.

And it cost ¥3000-5000 every time you take the test. The guys I met trying to convert to a manual license were on their 5th or 6th tries. I passed the auto on my 2nd. I saw one of the manual guys there a month later when I was working on my motorcycle license.
I think they demand absolute perfection on the shifting for some reason.

Full disclosure, I own one of these (in TSX sedan form). Also, your links disappeared for some reason.

Here the Galant was always a full size sedan while the Lancer was the mid size competitor to the likes of the Impreza. It appears the North American Galants were the same as the Japanese until 2004 when NA got a 9th generation car while the 8th gen stuck around in other markets until 2006. It appears that at some point they just started badging the Lancer as the Galant.

I found a few browsing the English site since the Japanese site seems to be a bit iffy, but there’s a few brushing up against your limit cap...not sure if the “Japanese Domestic Price” is with or without tax.

Usually it’s with before and after extra fees on the Japanese site. The English one might not as it would depend on if the person is exporting the car. There are usually $2-3000 in fees so I usually search for the final price when I am dreaming within the ‘I could maybe afford this in a year or two.’

Only during the test, and for professional drivers on the road. After the test they get their sticker that says they just started driving, and all rules disappear.
